Michael Olise played a starring role as Bayern Munich marked their Bundesliga title celebrations with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in their final home match of the 2024/25 season.
The win at the Allianz Arena, which came a week after the Bavarians clinched their record-extending 34th league crown, was a fitting end to a dominant campaign.
Olise, who has Nigerian heritage through his father, was instrumental in both of Bayern’s goals on the night.
The 23-year-old winger was a constant menace down the right flank, and it was his creativity that unlocked the Gladbach defense in the 31st minute.
Cutting inside onto his favored left foot, Olise whipped in a dangerous cross that found Harry Kane, whose glancing touch sent the ball past Jonas Omlin for his 25th Bundesliga goal of the season.
The first half ended with Bayern narrowly in front, and the hosts continued to press for a second after the break.
Olise remained at the heart of their attacking efforts, nearly providing another assist when his cutback found Raphael Guerreiro, who narrowly missed the target with a powerful strike from the edge of the area.
Bayern’s dominance continued, with Thomas Muller coming close to a fairytale goal in his final Allianz Arena appearance, only for Omlin to deny the veteran forward.
Gladbach briefly threatened to spoil the party, with Manuel Neuer making a crucial save to deny Rocco Reitz just before the hour mark.
However, Bayern’s relentless pressure paid off in the final minutes, as Olise capped his impressive performance by scoring the decisive second goal in the 90th minute.
The 34-time champions then capped off the night with a jubilant trophy presentation, celebrating another remarkable season in typical Bavarian style.
