French ligue 1 clubs target Egyptian Star Ibrahim Adel in winter transfer window
French football appears to be setting its sights on a new Egyptian talent, as Ligue 1 side RC Lens has reportedly expressed interest in signing Ibrahim Adel, the promising winger from Egyptian club Pyramids FC and a standout performer for Egypt’s national team.
French sports outlet Sport revealed Lens’s desire to acquire the 23-year-old Adel during the upcoming winter transfer window, following his impressive performances at the Paris 2024 Olympics with Egypt’s national team.
The report indicates that Lens views Adel as a solution to its current offensive struggles.
With only 12 goals scored in 11 matches, Lens has been among the lowest-scoring teams in Ligue 1 this season, ranking just above Le Havre (8 goals), Saint-Étienne (10 goals), and Montpellier (11 goals).
Lens’s need to bolster its attack has prompted negotiations with Pyramids FC over a possible transfer of Adel.
Meanwhile, Ligue 1 rivals Nice are also reportedly interested in Adel as they seek to address their own scoring issues.
Adel’s skill and versatility on the field have not gone unnoticed by top French clubs, especially after his remarkable Olympic performances, which highlighted his potential as a game-changing forward.
Previously, Adel had attracted interest from another Ligue 1 club, Olympique Lyonnais, during the summer transfer window.
Lyon’s interest was sparked by Adel’s standout performances with the Egyptian national team, and his skillful play has continued to catch the attention of European scouts.
Ibrahim Adel remains under contract with Pyramids FC until 2029, positioning the Egyptian club in a strong negotiating stance as interest in their star player grows across the French league.
As the winter transfer window approaches, the potential move could mark an exciting step for Adel, bringing one of Egypt’s most promising young talents to the European stage.
