French-Ivorian defender Loïc Badé commits to Bayer Leverkusen until 2030
Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of French-Ivorian defender Loïc Badé from Sevilla on a contract running until June 2030.
The Bundesliga champions announced the deal on Thursday through their official channels, ending days of speculation over the transfer.
After completing the move, the 25-year-old expressed his excitement: I really enjoy the Bundesliga and German football. Bayer Leverkusen has gained a lot of recognition abroad in recent years. I’ve seen them a lot on television, especially during European matches. The stadium and the Leverkusen fans were brilliant. It will be a great pleasure to fight for a trophy with Bayer 04 in this context.
Badé, who came through the academies of Paris FC and Le Havre, has already played in France with Lens and Rennes, in England with Nottingham Forest, and most recently in Spain with Sevilla.
Valued at around €25m, the defender becomes the latest addition to Leverkusen’s squad as they prepare for the new Bundesliga season.
His arrival gives Xabi Alonso further options at the back as the club looks to defend its domestic title and push for European honours.
Leverkusen open their league campaign against Hoffenheim this weekend.
