Manchester City are reportedly exploring a shock move for French-Guinean midfielder Paul Pogba.
The former Manchester United star is currently a free agent after his contract with Juventus was terminated in November.
Pogba is currently serving a doping ban which was reduced from four years to 18 months and is due to lift in March.
According to reports in the UK media, Manchester City have reached out to Pogba over a shock move to the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City have struggled to replace Spanish international Rodri, who has been ruled out of the season.
However, in a bid to bolster their midfield, the club are said to have Pogba over a surprise return to Manchester.
Manager Pep Guardiola is a known admirer of Pogba and is said to see the 31-year-old as a possibly shrewd target, but the Frenchman is reluctant to return to Manchester after a turbulent six-year spell with United.
A move to La Liga, the Bundesliga or Serie A is thought to appeal to Pogba, who has also been heavily linked with Ligue 1 giants Marseille.
