AS Monaco has confirmed that Switzerland international of DR Congo descent Denis Zakaria will stay at the club amid growing interest.
The 28-year-old midfielder emerged as a subject of interest for several clubs, including Saudi Pro League giants Al Ahli, who were keen to snap up the midfielder.
However, the former Chelsea star reportedly turned down two offers from Al Ahli to remain at the club.
Amid growing interest of his departure, the Frecnh giants has confirmed that the experienced midfielder will stay at the club.
“Following several reports that have appeared in the media in recent days, the club wants to clarify the situation and informs that there will not be a departure, between now and the end of the transfer window, for their captain, Denis Zakaria, who was recently the subject of interest from a Saudi club,” read the statement.
The midfielder was in action for Monaco when they defeated Le Havre 3-1 to secure victory on Premier League opener.
Zakaria has been in the books of Monaco since 2023, with his current contract expected to expire in summer 2028.
