The financial situation of French professional football clubs for the 2011-2012 season reveals a cumulative net deficit of 107 million euros, compared to 65 million euros the previous season. Out of the 40 clubs, 25 have reported a net loss, with 9 in Ligue 1 and 16 in Ligue 2. The deficit in Ligue 2 has increased from 47 million euros to 19 million euros the previous season. However, there is a positive note with an 8.5% increase in professional football turnover, reaching 1.34 billion euros.
