French-Congolese forward Christopher Nkunku willing to take a pay cut to help Chelsea exit
France forward of Congolese descent, Christopher Nkunku, is reportedly keen on leaving Chelsea this summer.
According to sources, the player is willing to take a pay cut to help with his move to another club.
Chelsea, however, have placed a valuation of around €48 million on the 27-year-old and are not open to a loan deal, which could complicate negotiations.
Bayern Munich, who had previously considered Nkunku as a reinforcement, have since shifted their focus to his Chelsea teammate Nicolas Jackson.
While Jackson appears to be the more likely target, Nkunku’s stance on reducing his salary could yet tempt Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl and his team back into talks.
For now, Jackson remains Bayern’s priority, but Nkunku’s future is still one to watch as the transfer window progresses.
Other reports indicate that Christopher Nkunku is a transfer target of some other top European clubs and a move to Saudi Arabia should not also be ruled out.
