Christopher Nkunku's future at Chelsea uncertain amid transfer speculation

France forward of Congolese descent, Christopher Nkunku, is open to the idea of joining Bayern Munich this summer.

The forward wants to return to Germany, where he once thrived at RB Leipzig and is fancying a move to the current Bundesliga Champions.

The 27-year-old has reportedly told Chelsea he’s open to leaving, with talks already underway with several clubs.

Bayern, who made contact during the last winter window, are again monitoring the situation closely.

Nkunku joined Chelsea with high expectations but struggled with injuries and form. Despite his limited impact, his value is still estimated at around €50 million, making him an attractive option in the market.

According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are currently ahead in negotiations. Newcastle United have also shown interest and could make a move if they sell striker Alexander Isak to fund a deal.

For Bayern to make an official offer, they will likely need to clear space on their wage bill by moving on some high earners.

The Bundesliga giants remain keen on reinforcing their attacking options and may see this summer as the right time to strike.

Should Leroy Sane leave Bayern Munich, the club is expected to intensify its interest in signing Nkunku.
