After a grueling 638 days on the sidelines, Presnel Kimpembe is back in Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old defender hasn’t featured for the French giants since February 2023 due to a persistent Achilles injury that required two surgeries.
Following his initial operation in early 2023, complications necessitated a second procedure later that year, keeping the Frenchman away from competitive football. Months of intensive rehabilitation and a recent return to first-team training have brought him closer to full recovery.
Though included in the squad traveling to Bavaria, RMC Sport reports that Kimpembe is not expected to be on the teamsheet for Tuesday’s high-stakes match. His inclusion, however, signals a significant step toward regaining match fitness and reclaiming his place in PSG’s defense.
Fans and teammates alike eagerly await the return of Kimpembe, who brings experience and leadership to PSG’s backline. While the Allianz Arena won’t see his comeback just yet, the defender’s presence signals brighter days ahead for the French international.
