French Ligue 1 club, AS Saint-Etienne has turned down an offer from Al Ahly to sign talented Ghanaian midfielder Augustine Boakye.
Information gathered indicates that the Egyptian giants formerly contacted the French outfit and made the intention to sign the youngster clear.
Although an offer was made, AS Saint-Etienne rejected it, stressing that the midfielder is not for sale at the moment.
Augustine Boakye, 24, signed for the French Ligue 1 side before the start of the 2024/25 football season.
Before that, he had impressed at his former club Wolfsberger AC in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Although injuries have affected the development of Boakye, he is still regarded as one with a lot of potential.
Though Al Ahly’s initial offer was rejected by AS Saint-Étienne, the club has reportedly not given up on the Ghanaian.
The club will reportedly make another offer as the Egyptian club officials look to bring in reinforcements ahead of the team’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
