Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni says the Spanish giants are fully prepared and confident ahead of their Club World Cup semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, the 24-year-old midfielder emphasised the team’s determination to advance.
Tchouaméni, who is of Cameroonian heritage through his father, has become a central figure in Real Madrid’s midfield since joining from AS Monaco in 2022. As Los Blancos prepare to face PSG, he believes their squad has the quality needed to reach the final.
“We’re working very well to prepare for the PSG game. We’re delighted to be in the semi-finals, but we want more,” he said. “We have to win the game against PSG, and we’re going to give our all, fight to win to stay in the competition.”
Tchouaméni also acknowledged the strength of their French opponents, adding: “PSG are a good team, with a lot of players I know personally. They’re a top team in world football, recently winning the Champions League. It’s going to be a difficult game, but we have the quality to win it and we have to show that.”
He also spoke highly of head coach Xabi Alonso and the team’s ongoing progress: “Day by day, we understand more and more what the coach and his staff want. We’re improving on and off the pitch in every game. We have to keep working and improving.”
Real Madrid, seeking their sixth Club World Cup title, will need to overcome a confident PSG side that recently claimed their first UEFA Champions League crown. The match promises to be one of the marquee encounters of the tournament, with Tchouaméni expected to play a key role in midfield.
