French international of Algerian descent Karim Benzema has responded to former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s claims of being the greatest footballer in history.
Benzema and Ronaldo played together during their time with Spanish giants Real Madrid, winning several titles, including three consecutive Champions League success.
The former France international followed in the Portuguese’s footsteps in joining the Saudi Pro League, six months after Ronaldo terminated his Manchester United contract to sign for Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo and Benzema continue to bang in goals for fun. The former Real Madrid teammates are level at the top of the league’s goalscoring charts with 16 goals.
Expressing his view as to whether Ronaldo is the greatest of time as claimed on TNT Sports, Benzema said “I believe everyone can say what they want“, said the Al-Ittihad centre-forward. “If he thinks he is the best in history… then he is.”
The Frenchman is in the books of Al Ittihad and has been outatnding since joining the club from giants Real Madrid.
