French-Algerian midfielder Yacine Adli urges AC Milan fans to back manager Allegri after Al-Shabab switch
Yacine Adli has called on AC Milan supporters to rally behind coach Massimiliano Allegri after completing his move to Al-Shabab.
The midfielder’s plea came in a farewell message to the club’s fans as his four-year stint at San Siro drew to a close with a permanent transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
Adli, born in France to Algerian parents, leaves Milan having struggled for a regular starting place but earning respect for his professionalism.
The 24-year-old has signed a lucrative contract with Al-Shabab until 2028, reportedly worth €6 million per season, after the clubs agreed an initial fee of €7 million plus €1 million in bonuses.
In a heartfelt message to Milan supporters shared via the club’s media channels, Adli said: “Thank you so much for the love you fans have always shown me.
“I tell you, stand behind (coach Massimiliano) Allegri and the team because they deserve your support. I have been and always will be a Milanista, I have always given everything for that shirt, and no one can take that away from me.”
Adli joined Milan from Bordeaux in 2021 but only intermittently broke into the first team, featuring mainly as a squad player under Stefano Pioli before Allegri’s appointment this summer.
His move marks another high-profile addition to the Saudi Pro League as clubs there continue to attract European talent with significant financial packages.
For Milan, Adli’s departure creates room in midfield and trims the wage bill as Allegri continues to reshape the squad.
