Freiburg set €30 million price tag on Swiss-Angolan youngster Johan Manzambi
SC Freiburg are reportedly prepared to demand a record-breaking fee for highly rated midfielder Johan Manzambi as interest from top European clubs continues to grow.
The 20-year-old, who has established himself as a key figure for both Freiburg and the Switzerland national football team, has attracted attention from several major sides, including Galatasaray, SSC Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen, and Paris Saint-Germain.
According to reports, Freiburg have no intention of letting their prized asset leave unless their current transfer record is surpassed. The club’s highest-ever sale stands at €30 million, the fee paid by Brentford FC for Kevin Schade in 2023, and any potential deal for Manzambi would need to exceed that figure.
The German club remain in a strong negotiating position, with Manzambi under contract until 2030 and no release clause included in his deal. This gives Freiburg full control over his future as they look to maximise his value.
Despite the growing list of interested clubs, there are currently no advanced negotiations, and a final decision on the player’s future is not expected in the near term. Reports suggest that any serious movement could be delayed until after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as Freiburg continue to monitor his development and market value.
