Frederic Miyenga: Cameroon defender linked with move to Greek side Nestos
Cameroon centre-back Frederic Miyenga, currently a free agent after leaving Greek club Marko this summer, is being linked with a move to Super League 2 side Nestos.
The 27-year-old, born in Douala and standing at 1.88m, saw his contract with Marko end on 1 July 2026 and is available without a transfer fee. Nestos are understood to be exploring a deal as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Super League 2 campaign.
Miyenga’s value has been assessed at around €125,000, a figure that reflects his recent run of regular football in Greece. He made 27 league appearances in Super League 2 last season, plus further outings in the play-out phase and domestic cup, establishing himself as a consistent presence at the back at second-tier level.
The defender has spent the past few years moving across Greek lower divisions, with spells at Neo Keramidi, AE Ermionida, Orestiada and AEP Kozanis after leaving Czech side MFK Vyskov, having previously come through the ranks at Montpellier in France. His most productive stint in front of goal came in the French third tier, where he registered one goal in 10 National 1 Group C appearances.
Nestos’ interest comes at a time when Miyenga is seeking stability after a series of short-term stays, and the prospect of remaining in Greek football is thought to appeal. For now, he remains unattached and free to negotiate with prospective clubs as discussions over a potential deal with Nestos continue.
