Fred Akamba: Franco-Cameroonian winger joins FC Mulhouse on free transfer from Schiltigheim U19
FC Mulhouse have added Franco-Cameroonian winger Fred Akamba to their squad after the 18-year-old completed a free transfer from Schiltighm. U19. The left-sided attacker joins the National 2 Group E side following a move finalised on 22 July 2026.
Akamba, born in Strasbourg in November 2007, arrives at Mulhouse having operated primarily as a left winger, cutting inside onto his right foot. Standing at 1.79m, he has been recruited to bolster the attacking options of a club competing in the fourth tier of French football.
The teenager impressed at youth level with Schiltighm. U19 last season, making 25 appearances in the National U19 Group B competition and scoring seven goals. His return of a goal roughly every 237 minutes underlined his ability to contribute in the final third over a sustained campaign.
Akamba’s switch to Schiltighm. U19 in 2025 followed an earlier free transfer from Strasbourg’s academy ranks, where he progressed through the youth set-up from Strasbourg Youth to the U18 and U19 sides. His move to Mulhouse marks his first step away from youth-only structures into a senior club environment.
Able to represent both France and Cameroon at international level, Akamba now begins the next stage of his career with FC Mulhouse after signing on a free transfer from Schiltighm. U19.
