Frankfurt target Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer in Bundesliga return rumour
German defender Thilo Kehrer is being linked with a move from Monaco to Frankfurt, with the Bundesliga club monitoring the 29-year-old centre-back.
Kehrer has been contracted to Monaco since July 2024 and remains tied to the Ligue 1 side until 30 June 2028. The reported interest would represent a return to Germany for a player who began his senior career at Schalke.
Born in Tubingen, Kehrer has German and Burundian nationality and can play with either foot. He has made 155 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing three assists, while also featuring in the Premier League, Bundesliga and Champions League during his career.
His honours include three French league titles and two French Cups with Paris Saint-Germain. He also won the Conference League with West Ham United in the 2022-23 season.
Kehrer joined Monaco after spells with Paris Saint-Germain, West Ham and Schalke, and his experience across France, England and Germany adds background to Frankfurt’s reported interest. Monaco’s current contract position means any potential move would involve a player who is not approaching the end of his deal, while his listed market value is €12m.
The rumour was recorded on 18 August 2026, with Kehrer still a Monaco player under contract through June 2028.
