Age Controversy Surrounds Frank Acheampong Following Allegations by Former Partner
The question of player ages continues to stir controversy in football, with Frank Acheampong now at the centre of fresh allegations. After Samuel Eto’o’s age was questioned in the past, Acheampong faces similar scrutiny following claims made by his former partner.
According to the Flemish newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, the Ghanaian winger’s ex-partner alleged that Acheampong is officially 20 years old—ten years older than previously believed. This revelation came amid a legal complaint she filed against him as a tenant.
The player has strongly denied the accusations, suggesting that the claims stem from bitterness over their broken relationship. “She can’t bear the fact that our relationship is over. She’s looking for attention,” Acheampong stated.
Adding to the dispute, Acheampong’s Dutch agent has dismissed the allegations as fabrications.
The situation has further darkened with the ex-partner accusing Acheampong of physical abuse, stating she was hit twice when she confronted him about his age. She also alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a roommate while the footballer was away at training.
