Franculino emerges as Trabzonspor target after prolific Midtjylland season

Guinea-Bissau-Portuguese forward Franculino is the subject of reported interest from Turkish club Trabzonspor, with the 22-year-old currently contracted to Danish side Midtjylland.

Franculino has started the 2026-27 campaign with one goal in four Superliga appearances, while also contributing two goals and two assists in four Conference League qualifying matches. He has also featured twice in Europa League qualifying.

The centre-forward finished as the Superliga’s leading scorer last season with 17 goals and helped Midtjylland win the Danish Cup. His performances have contributed to a current market value of €22m.

Franculino joined Midtjylland from Benfica’s under-23 side in July 2023 on a free transfer. He played a part in the club’s Danish title-winning campaign in his first season and has since established himself as an important attacking option.

A move to Trabzonspor would take him from Denmark’s Superliga to Turkey’s Super Lig, although no transfer has been confirmed. Franculino’s existing contract with Midtjylland runs until 31 December 2029, giving the Danish club a long-term agreement as interest from Turkey emerges.
