Stade Malherbe de Caen have completed the signing of 28-year-old Franco-Senegalese winger Samuel Grandsir from Le Havre AC.
After undergoing a successful medical examination, Grandsir has signed his contract, bringing an end to his time with Le Havre, which began in January 2023.
Grandsir’s career has seen him play in various top-flight clubs across France and abroad.
He made his Ligue 1 debut with ESTAC Troyes between 2016 and 2018 before moving on to other prominent clubs, including AS Monaco, RC Strasbourg, and Stade Brestois.
The winger also had a stint in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles Galaxy, before returning to France in 2022 to join Le Havre.
His return to France will see him bring his pace, technical ability, and vast experience in Ligue 1 to Stade Malherbe de Caen, a club currently facing challenges in Ligue 2.
Grandsir’s addition will strengthen Caen’s attacking options, joining recent signings Yassine Benrahou and Avila Ba Loua in an effort to improve the team’s performance.
The player will wear the number 21 shirt and is expected to make his debut for his new club in this weekend’s match against USL Dunkerque.
Grandsir’s experience and qualities could prove vital in helping Caen push for better results as they continue their Ligue 2 campaign.
