France international of Ivory Coast descent Wesley Fofana has been sidelined following an injury setback.

Fofana, who plies his trade for Premier League giants Chelsea is set to spend two weeks on the sidelines due to concussion. He joins Cole Palmer as the two major absentees at the club.

Chelsea’s recent fixtures have been nothing short of costly in terms of injuries. In the clash against Manchester United, Cole Palmer suffered an injury that will keep him out for two to three weeks.

Fofana sustained a suspected concussion during the EFL Cup clash against Lincoln City, ruling him out of action for the next 12 days.

However, the defender will not be available for the upcoming Champions League fixture against Benfica, and also miss the sides Premier League games against Brighton and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old defender has made three appearances in the English Premier League for Chelsea this season after five matches.
