Franco-Ivorian striker Christ Okou joins Clermont Foot on season-long loan

Young Franco-Ivorian striker Christ Okou has completed a move to Clermont Foot, where he will continue his development in the French second tier after joining the club on a season-long loan deal.

The 20-year-old forward, who spent last season with the reserve team of Paris FC, will now gain valuable experience in professional football with Clermont Foot during the 2026–27 campaign.

The temporary transfer was officially confirmed on Thursday, July 30, by both Clermont Foot and Paris FC, with the agreement set to keep Okou at the Ligue 2 side for the entire season.

Okou, who has progressed through the youth ranks at Paris FC, recently took another major step in his career after signing his first professional contract with the Paris-based club in June. His loan move to Clermont is seen as an opportunity for the promising striker to continue his growth and compete regularly at senior level.

Following the announcement of his arrival, Okou expressed his excitement about taking on the new challenge and experiencing Ligue 2 football.

“I’m very happy to be here at Clermont Foot. I can’t wait to experience Ligue 2 and the professional game,” he said.

The young forward also highlighted his qualities as a striker and his desire to make an immediate impact at his new club.

“I’m an all-round striker, capable of scoring with both feet as well as with my head. I’m not putting any pressure on myself; I know I can contribute to the team and I can’t wait to score my first goal at Le Montpied in front of the fans.”
