Franco-Guinean defender Bafodé Diakité is on the verge of joining Premier League outfit AFC Bournemouth in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old is joining the Cherries from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille on a permanent deal as a replacement for Dean Huijsen, who departed the club thus summer to join Real Madrid.
Diakite will under his mandatory medical on Sunday in London, August 10, 2025 before putting pen to paper as a new Bournemouth player.
Having being a priority summer target, the Premier League outfit is expected to seal the signing of the defender Diakité in the coming days.
According to reports, €40m of that will be directly reinvested in Diakité as he edges closer to a move to the Premier League.
Diakité has been in the books of Lille since 2022, establishing himself as a key member of the team. His current contract with the French outfit is expected to expire in summer 2028.
