Franco-Congolese striker Jean-Philippe Mateta leaves Crystal Palace exit open ahead of winter window
France international of DR Congo descent Jean-Philippe Mateta has left the door open for winter Crystal Palace departure amid Manchester United interest.
The 28-year-old attacker, who joined Crystal Palace in 2022 has attracted significant interest following his outstanding performance. Since joining the Eagles, the forward has established himself as a key member of the club.
Mateta is a top transfer target for several European clubs, including Manchester United, who are seeking to bolster their attack in the upcoming window.
The enterprising attacker is said to have told Palace he’s ready to test himself at a higher level, with the club now exploring options ahead of the winter window.
The Frenchman’s contract with the English club expires in 18 months. Mateta has racked up seven goals in the Premier League for the Eagles this season.
However, offers above £40M could tempt Palace to cash in in the Franco-Congolese striker in winter.
Mateta joined Palace in 2022 for €11 million from German side Mainz. The Frenchman has made 171 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 54 goals and providing 12 assists.
