France international of DR Congo descent Steve Mandanda is expected to depart Stade Rennes at the end of the current campaign.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper’s contract with Rennes expires in June 2025 and is set to end his three-year spell with the club.
Mandanda joined Rennes in 2022 as a free agent following his departure from French giants Olympique Marseille. He went on to feature 101 times with Les Rouge et Noir.
Having lost his number one role following the arrival of Brice Samba from Lens in the winter transfer window, the experienced goalkeeper will depart the club.
Rennes have already decided not to offer Mandanda a new contract and will now depart the club as a free agent.
Meanwhile, several clubs have enquired with Mandanda regarding his availability. The 2018 World Cup winner is still reportedly in good spirits at Rennes, despite his demotion, and has a good relationship with head coach Habib Beye.
Mandanda has made 17 appearances in the French Ligue 1 this season, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 23 goals.
