Franco-Congolese defender Axel Disasi set for Chelsea departure ahead of winter window

France international of DR Congo descent Axel Disasi is expected to depart Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old defender has been axed from the Blues first team squad, raising concerns about his future at the club. Since the commencement of the current campaign, Disasi has yet to make a single appearance for the reigning FIFA Club World Cup holders.

Recently, the French-Congolese defender featured for Chelsea U21 team against Reading FC, signaling his potential departure from the team, having fallen down the pecking under coach Enzo Maresca.

According to reports, both parties have agreed to a January departure in an attempt to seek for regular playing time. Meanwhile, it remains unknown whether Disasi will be farmed out on loan or leave on a permanent deal.
