Kylian Mbappé and PSG locked in €55 million legal battle over unpaid wages

France international of Cameroonian descent Kylian Mbappe is expected to be available for the high-stake Spanish Super Cup final clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona this weekend.

The Los Blancos triumphed over Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Thursday, setting up a mouth-watering final against Barcelona, who thumped Athletic Bilbao 5-0 on Wednesday.

Mbappe was missing in action when Real Madrid inflicted a 2-1 win over their city-rivals to secure a place in the final, scheduled for Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Saudi Arabia.

The pacey winger suffered a knee injury at the end of December 2025 and has been undergoing rehabilitation.

After the game, Xabi Alonso, who is the head coach of Madrid disclosed Mbappe feels much better and stand a chance of featuring against Barcelona.

“He will arrive in Saudi Arabia within the next 24 hours, he feels much better. He has chances to play,” says Xabi Alonso.

This season, Mbappé has played 24 matches for Real across all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 5 assists.
