France international of Algeria descent Rayan Cherki could be available for Manchester City’s upcoming Champions League clash against AS Monaco.

The 22-year-old winger, who joined Manchester City in the summer sustained an injury setback in matchday two of the Premier League campaign and has since not featured for the club.

Since joining the Premier League giants, the former Lyon star has made just 71 minutes of football for the club, netting once before succumbing to a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the September international break, with Hugo Ekitike taking up his place.

Cherki’s return to first-team training is just a matter of days and could be available for the sides’ game against Brentford on October 5.

Meanwhile, it is even possible for the attacker to be in the squad for the Champions League game against Monaco next Wednesday.

However, Cherki had a medical test at the start of the week, which showed that the injury had fully healed.

His return for Manchester City, perhaps in time for a crucial UEFA Champions League clash, could allow him to return to the France squad, after he missed the most recent international break.
