Franco-Algerian winger Maghnes Akliouche misses Monaco training due to illness
France international of Algeria descent Maghnes Akliouche was absent from AS Monaco training, held at the performance centre in La Turbie on Thursday due to illness.
The 23-year-old now remains a doubt for the Principality club upcoming French Ligue 1 clash against Lorient on Saturday.
Akliouche has been outstanding for Monaco in the current campaign, racking up six appearances, scoring two goals and delivering an assist across competitions.
Monaco are in a serious injury crisis this season, with captain Denis Zakaria being ruled out for two months as well Aladji Bamba.
The attacker has been in the books of Monaco since 2022, with his current contract expected to expire in the summer of 2028.
Akliouche attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe after exhibiting a top-class performance last term, but the move fell through due to Monaco’s demands.
Despite being eligible to represent Algeria at the international level, Akliouche opted to play for the France national team, making his debut in the September international.
