Franco-Algerian winger Maghnes Akliouche doubtful for RC Lens clash

France international of Algerian descent Maghnes Akliouche is a major doubt for the upcoming French Ligue 1 clash between AS Monaco and RC Lens.

The Principality club travels to face RC Lens in a highly competitive fixture, scheduled to take place at the Bollaert on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

Monaco’s season has been blighted by an unrelenting injury crisis, with the 23-year-old attacker expected to miss the upcoming game in France due to setback.

Akliouche joins former Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria as two high-profile players likely to miss the game against Lens.

At a pre-match conference, Monaco coach Sébastien Pocognoli disclosed the winger is a major doubts for the game. Akliouche is still managing the hip injury that he sustained during the win over FC Nantes.

The winger was not included in Monaco’s training on Thursday morning, casting doubts about his availability for the league leaders.

He started against Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League clash in mid-week, where his outfit succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

The 23-year-old attacker has made 32 appearances for Monaco this season, scoring four goals and six assists across competitions.
