Franck Kessie: Cote dIvoire ready for Ghana derby in 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier

The Cote d’Ivoire captain says the Elephants must be fully prepared from the opening whistle when they face Ghana in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Speaking at a news conference on the eve of the match, Franck Kessie underlined the significance of a meeting between two of African football’s major nations.

“It is clear. When you play Ghana, it is a derby. Ghana are also a great African nation, with very, very good players,” said the midfielder.

Kessie stressed that Cote d’Ivoire’s preparations had focused on maintaining concentration and carrying out the instructions given by the coaching staff.

“As the coach said, we are working and taking on board the instructions from the coach and his staff so that we can be at our best tomorrow, from the referee’s first whistle,” he added.

The Elephants are continuing their preparations seriously as they get ready for the eagerly anticipated meeting with the Black Stars.
