In an electrifying Europa League encounter at Lotto Park, Francis Amuzu salvaged a point for Anderlecht with a sensational late goal in their 2-2 draw against FC Porto.
The game saw a thrilling back-and-forth as Porto took the early lead through a Galeno penalty in the 24th minute. Anderlecht responded in the second half with a brilliant strike from Tristan Degreef, who leveled the score in the 52nd minute after a great assist from Mats Rits.
However, Porto regained the advantage in the 83rd minute when Fábio Vieira’s well-placed shot put them ahead once again. It looked like Anderlecht would be denied, but Amuzu had other plans. Coming off the bench in the 60th minute, he was a constant threat, and in the 86th minute, he made his mark. The Ghanaian-Belgian winger fired a powerful right-footed shot from outside the box into the top corner, securing a dramatic equalizer for the hosts.
The result keeps Anderlecht’s hopes alive in the competition as they now focus on their upcoming league match against OH Leuven.
