France recently honored its standout performers of the season, with Paris Saint-Germain dominating the awards ceremony, bagging four trophies.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was once again named the “Best Player” for the second consecutive year after leading the goal-scoring charts with 25 goals. The Swedish striker also clinched the “Best Goal of the Year” award.
Joining Ibrahimovic in the winners’ circle, Marco Verratti was named “Best Hope,” while Salvatore Sirigu was recognized as the “Best Goalkeeper.”
Other notable awards included Alphonse Aréola being named the “Best Goalkeeper” in Ligue 2, and René Girard of Lille winning the “Best Coach in Ligue 1” accolade.
A special Trophy of Honor was presented to Bastia’s goalkeeper, Mickael Landreau, who holds the record for the most matches played in Ligue 1 (617) and is retiring at the end of the season.
The season’s typical teams for both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 were also unveiled, featuring players like Serge Aurier.
