In a moment of uncertainty leading up to the match, Senegalese player Pape Souaré managed to secure a spot in the lineup against Rennes in Ligue 1 this Saturday. However, his presence was short-lived as, in the 15th minute, the Stade de Reims full-back received a red card.
The expulsion came as a result of Souaré’s first muscular intervention in the game. The tackle, delivered at real speed, left a significant impact, and even the coach did not contest the decision. Following Souaré’s red card, Mohammed Fofana, another defender on the team, had to exit the game due to injury. Consequently, the match ended in defeat for the promoted side with a scoreline of 0-1.
