Max Alain Gradel proved to be the hero once again, replicating his derby performance against Lyon by securing a crucial point for Saint-Etienne against Nice on Sunday. The Ivorian winger made a significant impact after coming off the bench, converting a stoppage-time penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw for his team.

Despite a goalless first half, Nice managed to take the lead early in the second half through Matthieu Bodmer. However, Saint-Etienne fought back relentlessly but struggled to find the equalizer until the 90th minute. Nice’s captain Didier Digard was shown a red card for handling the ball in the penalty area, providing Gradel with the opportunity to level the score.

Gradel’s successful penalty, his fourth goal of the season, earned praise from fans on social media for his decisive contribution once again.

The Greens owe a debt of gratitude to Gradel for his knack of scoring important goals when needed the most.
