Alou Diarra Training with Nancy After Bordeaux Talks Collapse
Alou Diarra’s return to Bordeaux has fallen through. The former French international, who has been a free agent since terminating his contract with West Ham, was in advanced discussions with his former club, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
Now, Diarra is training with Ligue 2 outfit AS Nancy-Lorraine, where he has been welcomed by head coach Pablo Correa. While no deal has been signed yet, the 33-year-old midfielder isn’t ruling out the possibility of continuing his career at the club.
“Everything is possible,” Diarra said on the club’s official website. “Right now, the priority is to find excellent working conditions. There’s a great training center here, quality facilities, a young group, and a coach who knows where he’s going. It’s a good opportunity for me to train properly.”
The veteran added that he remains open to offers: “I’m not closing any doors. I’m a free player and I’m studying all the options that come my way. If something is meant to happen, it will happen naturally. And if the club needs me, they’ll talk to my advisors.”
For Diarra, Nancy is a club with potential: “This club belongs in Ligue 1.”
