**Lassana Diarra Named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September**

Olympique de Marseille midfielder Lassana Diarra has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September, following an impressive start to the season. The Malian-born French international received 52% of the vote, finishing ahead of OGC Nice’s Hatem Ben Arfa (25%) and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani (23%).

Diarra joined Marseille this summer after over a year without competitive football, yet he quickly showcased his quality and influence in midfield. His performances have been pivotal in Marseille’s early-season form, combining tactical discipline, creativity, and defensive solidity.

The recognition also comes as a reward for Diarra’s return to the French national team. After a five-year absence, he was recalled by Didier Deschamps, reflecting the midfielder’s continued high-level performances and importance to both club and country.

Since his arrival at Marseille, Diarra has consistently impressed fans and pundits alike, demonstrating that he remains a top-class player capable of influencing games at the highest level. His Player of the Month award highlights both his impact on Ligue 1 and his ongoing contribution to the resurgence of Olympique de Marseille this season.
