Julian Jeanvier has officially joined Lille, as the 21-year-old defender ratified his contract on Wednesday evening. The young player, whose contract with Nancy had ended, refused to extend with his training club and had given his agreement in principle to Lille back in March.
Having signed a four-season contract with LOSC, Jeanvier made his debut in Ligue 1 against his new team in January. The Guadeloupean defender, who played six matches last season, including four as a starter, is seen as a player with great potential, and his new coach, Réné Girard, commented that he comes to Lille to learn and finish his training, emphasizing the need for him to work on his maturity.
