Injury Setback for Hadji as Nancy Prepare for Ligue 2 Clash
Ligue 2 side AS Nancy Lorraine will be without veteran midfielder Youssouf Hadji for their upcoming fixture against Gazélec Ajaccio, following a knee operation last week.
The club confirmed in a statement that the 34-year-old Moroccan underwent surgery last Friday and has now begun his rehabilitation. “Youssouf Hadji underwent knee surgery last Friday,” read the official update on the club’s website. “He began treatment on Monday.”
Hadji, an influential figure for Nancy both on and off the pitch, is expected to miss at least the next match as he recovers. No specific timeline for his return has been given.
His absence adds to a growing injury list for the Lorraine side as they prepare for their next league outing. Several other squad members are also undergoing assessments or treatment.
Florent Zitte is currently sidelined with a right quadriceps injury and will undergo further medical checks in the coming days. Romain Bauchet, meanwhile, is being monitored after suffering a stress fracture.
Midfielder Karim Coulibaly continues his recovery programme with fitness coach Arnaud Lesserteur, as he works his way back to match fitness. In more positive news, left-back Vincent Muratori is expected to return to training on Tuesday after being granted a short rest.
The spate of injuries poses a selection challenge for head coach Pablo Correa, who will need to reshuffle his options ahead of a crucial match as Nancy look to climb the Ligue 2 standings.
Despite the setbacks, the club remains optimistic about the recovery progress of its players and is hopeful of welcoming several back in the coming weeks.
