French Football Federation President Meets Luzenac Leaders Amid Promotion Uncertainty
Today, Noël Le Graët, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), held talks with Jérôme Ducros and Fabien Barthez regarding the troubled situation of Luzenac, the club whose promotion to Ligue 2 remains in jeopardy.
Despite earning promotion on the field, Luzenac has faced repeated rejections from various football authorities, casting doubt over their future. During the meeting, both Ducros, the club president, and Barthez, the general manager and former French international goalkeeper, acknowledged the grim outlook. Barthez expressed concerns that the club might struggle even to participate in the Championnat National, the third tier of French football.
Ducros described the situation as “quite complicated,” citing several factors contributing to the uncertainty surrounding Luzenac’s status. The outcome of these discussions could have significant implications for the club’s future in French football.
