Habib Beye, the former Senegalese international and ex-PSG youth player, recently shared some interesting insights ahead of the big French Clasico. Speaking to La Provence, he explained that despite his PSG roots, he’s always been a passionate Olympique de Marseille (OM) supporter — and that’s how people see him.
He said:
“As I’m a fierce OM supporter, people often tell me on social media that I’m forgetting my past. But I don’t deny my origins and my training at PSG, and I have nothing, especially no hatred, against this club. My heart simply beats for OM when it plays against PSG.”
Beye also pointed out his generation’s connection to OM’s glory years of 1991-93, which deeply inspired him. He emphasized:
“I’ve never hidden the fact that I’m a fan. So, at OM, they didn’t identify me as a Parisian, unlike Lorik Cana.”
His comments add an interesting personal angle to the already heated rivalry between the two clubs just days before the Clasico clash.
