Karim Benzema Doubtful for Armenia Clash After Foot Knock
France’s 2-1 win over Portugal may have been a morale booster, but it came at a physical cost. According to L’Équipe, Karim Benzema is now doubtful for Tuesday’s international friendly against Armenia in Yerevan, after sustaining a foot injury late in the game.
The Real Madrid striker was substituted by André-Pierre Gignac, who, along with Loïc Rémy, is now reportedly being considered to start in Benzema’s place.
Coach Didier Deschamps is also expected to rotate his lineup. In defense, Jérémy Mathieu could be handed a start alongside Raphaël Varane in central defense.
With several changes likely, France will look to maintain momentum while carefully managing player fitness.
