Antoinette Nana Djimou, the reigning European heptathlon champion and double European indoor pentathlon champion, has announced her decision to part ways with her coach, Sébastien Levicq. The French athlete of Cameroonian origin expressed her gratitude to Levicq for his support and guidance throughout their collaboration.
“I am truly thankful to Sébastien for everything he has done for me,” Nana Djimou stated in a press release. “He has been a constant source of support and encouragement, and I know he will continue to be there for me. However, I have decided that it is time for me to pursue a different training approach.”
Nana Djimou explained that she now wishes to focus on training as a specialist in her respective disciplines. With her sights set on her main goal of competing at the Rio 2016 Olympics, she emphasized the need to reorganize herself to ensure she is in the best possible condition to succeed.
As she embarks on this new chapter in her athletic journey, Nana Djimou will be seeking a new coach to guide her forward.
