Fouzi Lekjaa re-elected to UAFA Executive Council as Morocco secures 2027 Arab Women’s Cup hosting rights

President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, has secured another term on the executive council of the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA).

His re-election was confirmed during UAFA’s 28th General Assembly, held on Monday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Lekjaa will continue to represent Africa on the council, alongside Egypt’s Hani Abou Rida, Mauritania’s Ahmed Yahya, and Sudan’s Dr. Moatasem Jaafar.

In addition to the elections, the assembly officially awarded Morocco the hosting rights for the 2027 Arab Women’s Cup.

The competition is scheduled to take place from September 2 to 18, bringing together top women’s national teams from across the Arab world.

The Arab Women’s Cup was first staged in 2006 in Egypt, where Algeria triumphed over Morocco in the final.

The most recent edition, also hosted in Egypt in 2021, saw Jordan clinch the title with a narrow 1-0 win against Tunisia.
