Fouzi Lekjaa is steering Morocco toward hosting what could be the most ambitious Africa Cup of Nations yet.
As President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and head of the 2025 AFCON Organizing Committee, Lekjaa revealed that preparations for all nine tournament stadiums will be wrapped up by the end of this year or early next year.
He stated that facilities in Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, and Fez are already match-ready. Renovation and construction in Rabat are set to finish between August and September, while work on the Grand Stade de Tanger is progressing well.
Lekjaa emphasized Morocco’s unprecedented pledge to deliver nine world-class stadiums for the event. The country will also offer 24 hotels and 24 training grounds, ensuring every team has its own hotel and training pitch, a first in AFCON history.
This bold plan underscores Morocco’s commitment to staging a top-tier tournament and setting a new standard for African football competitions.
