Fousseni Diawara names Mali U-23 squad for Morocco and Burkina Faso fixtures

Mali U-23 manager Fousseni Diawara has announced his squad for the team’s upcoming international matches against Morocco and Burkina Faso.

The Aigles U-23 will travel to Rabat to face Morocco on 1 October before hosting Burkina Faso in Bamako on 5 October.

Goalkeepers Oumar Pona of Angers SCO, Bourama Kone of Yeelen Olympique and Cheick Diarra of Olympique de Marseille have been selected.

The defensive options are Issiaka Soukouna of Stade Rennais, Sekou Doucoure of FC Nantes, Souleymane Sagnan of RC Lens, Fousseyni Doumbia of Energie Cottbus, Eden Gassama of La Roche-sur-Yon, Dan Sinate of Amiens SC, Alfoussen Drame of FC Sochaux and Samba Konare of Stade Malien.

Diawara’s midfield selection includes Boubakar Dembaga of Olympique Charleroi, Sekou Kone of Lausanne, Ousmane Thiero of Rapid Vienne, Ibrahim Diarra of FC Barcelone, Ibrahima Diakite of EA Guingamp, Abdoulaye Kone of Binga FC and Cheick Keita of APOEL Haifa.

The forwards named in the squad are Mahamoud Barry of Villarreal CF, Aboubacar Sidibe of Paris 13 Atletico, Pape Sissoko of Ried, Aboubacar Diakite of Al-Hazem, Zoumana Diallo of OGC Nice, Moulaye Haidara of Rapid Vienne and Alou Meminta of FC Diarra.

The two-match schedule will give Diawara further time to work with his squad ahead of Mali’s next official commitments.
