Valenciennes midfielder, Algerian Foued Kadir, is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Olympique de Marseille (OM) today, subject to a medical examination. The transfer has been eagerly anticipated by OM, and Kadir’s arrival is seen as a valuable addition to the team.
Foued Kadir drew interest from several clubs, including Bordeaux, Lyon, and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Marseille’s sporting director, José Anigo, has revealed that the transfer is imminent, stating, “The transfer is a matter of days. We are waiting for the winter market to open to conclude this file. Normally, upon resumption, Foued should wear the Marseille jersey. We will need him for the rest of the season. Foued remains a very good player who will be useful to us. When he returns from CAN 2013, the championship will still be long and far from over.”
