Fortuna Düsseldorf have secured a major boost off the pitch by tying down one of their most important defensive players, Elias Egouli, on a long-term contract extension.
Despite the club’s ongoing relegation fight in the 2. Bundesliga, the Rhineland side confirmed that the 23-year-old centre-back has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Egouli has quickly established himself as a key figure in Fortuna’s defence this season, becoming an indispensable part of the squad during a challenging campaign.

Fortuna sporting director Sven Mislintat praised the defender’s progress and commitment to the club.
“Eli has developed very positively in his first professional season and has gradually earned his place in our team. It’s important to remember that he is still a young player with potential for further development.
