Former Real Madrid attacker Jorge Valdano has shared his view on the partnership between Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.
According to him, there is a lack of understanding in the play of the two players with African roots.
Jorge Valdano, speaking to Movistar’s El Tercer Tiempo, indicated that the two players tend to be selfish instead of combining to help Real Madrid win games.
“Both players are more focused on the goal than on playmaking. They’re great sprinters, and they’re always looking to score. Sometimes, I feel like they overemphasize looking for each other when the play calls for a shot rather than a pass. I’m not suggesting they aren’t friends, but off-field relationships don’t always dictate on-field understanding,” Jorge Valdano shared.
Both Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr have roots in Cameroon. Although they have combined for some beautiful goals for Real Madrid this season, some analysts have opined that they don’t have the best relationship.
