Jose Peseiro hails Victor Osimhen

Former Nigeria head coach José Peseiro has praised Victor Osimhen for his exceptional work ethic and fierce competitive mentality, describing the striker as an elite forward capable of adapting to any football environment.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal on several occasions, with the Nigerian striker attracting interest from the club during previous transfer windows.

Peseiro, who worked with Osimhen during his time as Nigeria coach, believes the forward possesses the mentality required to succeed regardless of where he plays.

Speaking in an interview, Peseiro eulogized Osimhen’s work ethic and fierce competitiveness, stressing he would easily adapt to any environment.

“Victor Osimhen is an elite striker with a rare work ethic and fierce competitiveness. He would have adapted to any environment,” Peseiro told Koora.

“Had he chosen Saudi Arabia, he would have been one of the league’s biggest stars, because of his commitment to the game,” he added.

The former Nigeria coach’s assessment reflects the qualities he observed while working with Osimhen at international level, particularly the striker’s desire to compete, physical intensity and determination to succeed.

Osimhen has built a reputation as a powerful and prolific forward, combining his pace, strength and movement with a strong desire to compete for every ball.

Peseiro therefore believes those characteristics would have allowed the Nigerian to thrive in Saudi Arabia just as he has done in European football.

The striker’s continued development and performances for both club and country have kept him among the most prominent Nigerian players on the international stage, with his competitive mentality remaining one of the key aspects of his game.
